Reading and writing are the two most important activities one undertakes as a doctoral student, but many students approach these activities in a haphazard and unorganized way wasting precious time and energy. In my presentation, I’ll share specific strategies for keeping your reading and writing activities organized so that everything you read and write works toward at least two end goals (i.e. conference presentations, coursework, dissertation, publications).
Lindy L. Johnson is a doctoral candidate in the department of Language and Literacy Education at The University of Georgia. Her research interests include critical digital literacies, multimodal composition, and discourse analysis. Her dissertation study examines how teachers learn to incorporate digital tools and writing process pedagogy during a year-long professional development program. Before pursuing her doctorate, she taught high school English in Boston Public Schools.
